Cordoba city was full of narrow streets, markets selling lamb carcasses, bougainvillea, and stray dogs. It was too hot so we spent New Year´s Eve on our rooftop terrace drinking beer and playing cards under the shade of an umbrella. At midnight we watched a panorama of fireworks that lasted for hours.
On New Year´s Day we went on a long bus ride to a river where we joined hundreds of Argentinians in the luke warm swimming holes. I sat in the shallows and was attacked by leeches (they may have been small water worms).
